My Mistakes Do Not Define Me

2-Day Workshop

Created & Facilitated by RolandOng

Overview

A practical programme for turning mistakes, setbacks and difficult experiences into capability.

My Mistakes Do Not Define Me is a two-day experiential workshop designed for organisations that want people to respond to mistakes with greater accountability, emotional regulation, learning agility and resilience—rather than shame, blame, defensiveness or avoidance.

The programme is positioned for CEOs, CHROs, directors, business owners, entrepreneurs, senior leaders and high-potential professionals who recognise that organisational performance is influenced not only by strategy and capability, but also by how people respond when things go wrong.

The Business Proposition
A mistake can become a liability when it produces blame, silence, repeated errors and loss of trust. The same mistake can become an organisational asset when it produces reflection, repair, learning and changed behaviour:

  1. Build constructive accountability without creating a culture of fear.

  2. Reduce unproductive self-judgement, shame and rumination around setbacks.

  3. Strengthen reflection, learning agility and adaptive decision-making.

  4. Improve the ability to repair relationships and rebuild trust.

  5. Translate personal learning into practical workplace behaviour.

  6. Support resilient leaders and more sustainable organisational performance.

Objectives

By the end of the two days, participants will be able to:

  1. Separate an event or behaviour from personal identity.

  2. Recognise the difference between healthy accountability, guilt, shame and self-punishment.

  3. Regulate emotional reactions before responding to setbacks.

  4. Examine personal contribution without excessive blame or defensiveness.

  5. Extract useful lessons from mistakes and convert them into behavioural changes.

  6. Reframe setbacks into opportunities for learning and growth.

  7. Repair relationships and rebuild trust following mistakes or difficult incidents.

  8. Create a personal and professional forward-action plan.
